Job description
We’re looking for an experienced Databricks Architect to join a growing Data & AI practice, helping enterprise organisations modernise their data estates, define technology strategy and establish the foundations for advanced analytics, machine learning and AI.
This is a strategic architecture role focused on defining future-state platforms, establishing architectural standards and guiding organisations through complex data transformation journeys. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, technology leaders and engineering teams to design scalable, secure and future-ready data ecosystems that deliver long-term business value.

You Will Work With
- Defining enterprise Data & AI architecture strategies and target-state roadmaps
- Designing modern Databricks Lakehouse and cloud-based data platforms
- Establishing governance, security, metadata and data management frameworks
- Leading architecture assessments, discovery workshops and strategic engagements
- Creating scalable architectures that support analytics, machine learning and AI capabilities
- Advising senior stakeholders on technology investments and transformation initiatives
- Defining architecture standards, design patterns and best practices
- Supporting cloud adoption across Azure, AWS and GCP environments
- Working closely with engineering, analytics and AI teams to ensure successful implementation
- Acting as a trusted advisor throughout large-scale transformation programmes
Requirements
- Experience defining enterprise Data Architecture strategies and roadmaps
- Strong Databricks and Lakehouse Architecture expertise
- Deep understanding of Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and modern Data Platform design
- Experience creating target-state architectures and modernisation strategies
- Strong knowledge of data governance, security and information architecture principles
- Experience working across Azure, AWS or GCP environments
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Proven ability to influence technology strategy and architectural decision-making
- Experience supporting large-scale data transformation initiatives
Desirable
- Databricks certifications
- Machine Learning, Generative AI or AI architecture experience
- Data Operating Model design experience
- Enterprise Architecture governance and design authority experience
- Financial Services, Retail or other regulated industry experience
- Consultancy or professional services background
