Requirements
- Were looking for a systems administrator or infrastructure engineer with strong Linux, cloud platform, networking, and security fundamentals.
- We require 3+ years of hands-on experience building and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, storage, databases, networking, infrastructure-as-code, cost optimisation, and cloud architecture patterns.
- We require 3+ years of experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or an equivalent platform, including automated testing, deployment workflows, and container deployment.
- We require 5+ years of Linux systems administration experience in production environments, including expertise with Ubuntu, CentOS, or RHEL, Bash scripting, service and package management, user permissions, log management, and troubleshooting.
- We require 2+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- We require 2+ years of experience with Docker containerisation and scripting in Python, Bash, Go, or similar.
- We prefer 2+ years of experience with monitoring and observability tools and 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration.
- We value strategic thinking about infrastructure and scaling, clear communication with developers and leadership, collaborative problem-solving, reliability, and a passion for automation and simplification.
- We prefer candidates with United Kingdom work authorisation.
- We ask applicants to describe an infrastructure project they owned end-to-end, including its most challenging aspect and what they would do differently.
Benefits & conditions
We build products and services that solve real problems at scale. Our infrastructure handles millions of requests daily, supports distributed teams across time zones, and meets reliability standards our customers depend on. Were scaling our infrastructure capabilities, and this role reports directly to our Infrastructure Lead with autonomy over deployment strategy and infrastructure design. The focus is on building resilient systems, automating repetitive work, and making infrastructure a competitive advantage-not firefighting incidents or managing inherited legacy systems. This is a part-time contract role, remote within EU time zones, with an advertised annual pay range of £50,000-£60,000.
