Job description

A great opportunity for a hands-on Senior IT Technician who will sit between Desktop Support and Infrastructure, tackling everything from user issues to servers, networks, identity and cloud. If you enjoy variety, ownership and developing deeper infrastructure skills, this role is for you. Senior IT Support Technician Role You’ll support day-to-day IT operations, resolve escalated desktop issues, and help maintain and improve core infrastructure services. Expect a mix of BAU, troubleshooting, project work and continuous improvement. Senior IT Support Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritise case workload, spotting trends and suggesting fixes
  • Deliver 2nd line support across Windows devices, applications and user access
  • Support Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Manage device builds, deployments, patching and lifecycle
  • Provide admin/support for Windows Server, AD, Azure AD (Entra ID) and Group Policy
  • Assist with Azure services, virtual machines and cloud infrastructure
  • Support core networking: DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls
  • Perform patching, monitoring, backups and restores
  • Contribute to upgrades, migrations and infrastructure improvement projects
  • Apply security best practice across endpoints, identity and access
  • Maintain clear documentation, runbooks and asset records
  • Participate in the on-call rota after probation

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience in IT Support (onsite + remote)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and AD/Azure AD
  • Solid Windows Server and virtualisation experience (VMware, Hyper-V or Azure)
  • Working knowledge of Azure infrastructure services
  • Good networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, switching, Wi-Fi
  • Experience with endpoint management/patching (Intune or similar)
  • Confident troubleshooting across desktop, server, network and cloud
  • Clear communicator with strong customer focus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Calm under pressure and reliable
