Intermountain Infrastructure Group (IIG) is seeking a versatile and committed Network Infrastructure Specialist to support the deployment, commissioning, operation, and long-term maintenance of our fiber optic network infrastructure and Point of Presence (POP) sites., This dynamic role is responsible for managing an assigned region of the network, supporting both operations and engineering efforts, and coordinating network deployment activities to align with customer requirements and project deliverables. The Network Infrastructure Specialist oversees POP shelters and other network assets within the assigned route, helping ensure infrastructure is successfully deployed, maintained, and operating reliably., n \n

Oversee all shelter placements and deployment within route \n

Coordinate operational maintenance task with field teams for all shelter locations and POP facilities managed by IIG. \n

Review and track permits, contractor deliverables, and inspection reports. \n

Coordinate with project manager, construction contractors, and permitting consultants to resolve field issues and authorize changes. \n

Maintain and manage accurate field documentation and issue regular updates to internal stakeholders. \n

Support ongoing maintenance and emergency repairs for communications infrastructure, including fiber optic cables and network equipment. \n

Respond to outages, conduct site inspections, troubleshoot network issues, and coordinate timely resolutions. \n

Implement and monitor preventive maintenance plans and safety procedures. \n

Generate technical reports, analyze system data, and contribute to operational improvements. \n
Requirements

Applicant must already live in the location the job posting is associated with. \n

Minimum of 3 years of experience in the telecommunications or utility industry. \n

Fiber splicing experience is a plus. \n

Experience with Inside Plant (ISP) installation and maintenance, including rack installation, DC power plants, 48V systems, batteries, infrastructure fuse panels, and fiber panels. \n

Experience with fiber installation, tie cables, testing, and troubleshooting. \n
-
Proficiency with testing equipment and tools, including OTDRs and voltmeters. \n, * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. \n

Knowledge of fiber optic network construction, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices. \n

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders. \n

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. \n

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. \n

Knowledge of local permitting authorities, regulations and processes. \n
Benefits & conditions

- Salary is dependent on the education, skills, and experience of the candidate. This role pays between $80,000 - $110,000 per year, DOE. \n

This position is 25% remote and 75% requires field visits within the entire region, which may involve travel, working in various weather conditions, and on construction sites. \n

Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate project schedules and deadlines. \n
