Job description
Insight Global is looking for 2 Systems Engineers (Level III, IV or V) to support the USNDS team in El Segundo, CA. This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining system requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle, ensuring requirements traceability, supporting change management activities, and driving requirements validation from concept through implementation.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working within complex DoD programs, utilizing requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, coordinating Requirement Change Requests (RFCs), and participating in engineering review boards throughout the full requirements ownership cycle. Candidates should be comfortable working across cross-functional engineering teams and supporting mission-critical national security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Manage system requirements and maintain end-to-end traceability within the IBM DOORS database. Review, analyze, decompose, and allocate system requirements to ensure alignment with program objectives. Support the full Requirements Ownership Cycle (ROC) from initial requirement development through implementation and verification. Track, evaluate, and process Requirements Change Requests (RFCs). Facilitate coordination between systems engineering, software, hardware, integration, test, and program management teams. Prepare materials and participate in technical review boards, change control boards, and engineering review boards. Assess impacts of proposed requirement changes on cost, schedule, risk, and technical performance. Ensure program requirements remain compliant with customer and mission objectives. Support verification planning, requirements validation, and technical baseline management activities. Develop and maintain technical documentation, requirements matrices, and engineering artifacts. Identify technical risks and support mitigation planning throughout the program lifecycle.
Requirements
Level 3: Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience Level 4: Bachelor’s degree + 9 years of experience Level 5: Bachelor’s degree + 14 years of experience
Active Secret Security Clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI preferred Experience with requirements management and traceability tools such as DOORS. Experience supporting DoD, Space, Intelligence Community, or other government programs. Requirements development and decomposition Requirements traceability IBM DOORS RFC management Change control processes Technical baseline management Systems lifecycle engineering Risk management Verification and validation Cross-functional collaboration Active TS/SCI Clearance. Experience supporting PNT, space, national security, missile defense, or strategic deterrence programs. Experience participating in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), and other technical governance forums. Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies. Knowledge of systems integration, verification, and validation processes. INCOSE Systems Engineering certifications or related professional credentials
