SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Oracle DBA Architect SME to join our Cloud One team to manage Government A-1 DTA VDC projects.

(This is a fully Remote job opportunity. ALL QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS A SECRET CLEARANCE and a Sec+ Certification).

This Air Force Program is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized, hybrid, and IT infrastructure that hosts mission systems, applications, services, and data in support of DoW Services and Agencies.

The Oracle DBA Architect will join an established team of engineers at an expert level with skills in database design, performance tuning and infrastructure architecture in a multi cloud environment. This position will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise level database solutions with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Database PL/SQL.

On-Call critical support may be required for after-hours support. The candidate will collaborate with the customer to determine root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Oracle DBA Architect expert designing scalable, secure and high-performing architectures in a cloud environment.
  • Will serve as the technical OCI DBA expert in PL/SQL development.
  • Will design and implement integration and database architectures using OCI, and Oracle Database for multi-cloud applications.
  • Will design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, and workflows to support contract needs and requirements.
  • Will conduct proactive database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning to ensure system reliability.
  • Will collaborate with established teams to design and implement solutions for Oracle SCM modules, ensuring data consistency.
  • Will apply best practices for database and integration security, authentication, and encryption in compliance with Department of Defense standards.
  • Will troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and database issues across OCI, OIC, and on-prem environments.
  • Will mentor and share technical direction to developers and integration teams.
  • Will maintain clear and detailed architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and design standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizen and active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s and Nine (9) or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • AWS: Experience working in AWS environments, with proficiency in EC2, CloudWatch, RDS, and S3.
  • Oracle Database Administration: Oracle Database 19c preferred. Experience with database installation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and Data Pump.
  • Backup and Recovery: Experience with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), including backup configuration, restore and recovery operations, backup validation, and point-in-time recovery.
  • Oracle Networking: Experience configuring and troubleshooting Oracle Net Services, including listeners, TNS configuration, service registration, and database connectivity.
  • Storage and Capacity Management: Experience managing tablespaces, datafiles, redo logs, archive logs, and database storage utilization, including identifying and resolving capacity-related issues.
  • Performance Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose database performance and availability issues using Oracle alert and trace logs, AWR reports, execution plans, dynamic performance views, and other Oracle diagnostic tools.
  • Patching and Maintenance: Experience applying Oracle Database Release Updates and other patches using OPatch and datapatch, including prerequisite checks, post-patch validation, and troubleshooting patching failures.
  • Security Administration: Experience implementing and maintaining Oracle database security controls (including STIGs), Unified Auditing, users, roles, privileges, profiles, and related security configurations.
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM): Experience administering OEM, including job automation, agent deployment and management, monitoring, and alert configuration.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to assess database performance, availability, capacity, and reliability issues and recommend appropriate software, configuration, or infrastructure changes.
  • Microsoft SQL Server: Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration, including database installation and configuration, backup and recovery, patching, security (including STIGs), and general troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL): Proficiency with RHEL administration as it relates to Oracle environments, including cron jobs, SELinux, system services, file ownership, permissions, and related OS configuration.
  • Shell Scripting: Working knowledge of Bash scripting, shell environments, and user/profile configuration.
  • Certifications: Oracle Database Administration 2019 Certified Professional.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
