Job description

In this role, you provide end-to-end leadership of sustaining activities for the Dynamic Field Subsystem within MR Development. You manage incoming requests, oversee solution delivery, and lead a multidisciplinary international team to ensure product quality, continuity of supply, and lifecycle performance of MRI system components.

Your role:

  • Lead the full sustaining process for all DFS-owned components, from intake to solution delivery and quality review
  • Evaluate and triage incoming requests (e.g., customer complaints, quality issues, reliability improvements) and define the appropriate R&D response
  • Manage the request-for-solutions funnel, including prioritization, resource allocation, and competency planning
  • Oversee execution of accepted requests: task assignment, progress tracking, and quality control
  • Act as first-line R&D contact for critical issues, including urgent logistical challenges such as end-of-life notifications
  • Lead and maintain governance structures (e.g., business programming board, RFS update meetings)
  • Ensure knowledge management and continuous improvement of sustaining processes
  • Coordinate crisis responses to safeguard supply chain continuity and production
  • Lead a diverse team (internal and external engineers) across disciplines (electrical, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, service)
  • Collaborate with suppliers, Operations, and Customer Support on design, manufacturability, quality, and installed base issues

Requirements

  • You hold a BSc or MSc in Engineering, Technical Physics, or Biomedics
  • You have ~4+ years of experience with MRI hardware
  • You bring ~4+ years of project management experience
  • You have a CAPM-level understanding of PMBoK and are familiar with PRINCE2 and/or Agile methodologies
  • You have knowledge of design methodologies such as DFSS
  • You are experienced with design controls, document control systems, and relevant standards (FDA, IEC)
  • You are proficient in tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps and PTC Windchill
  • You communicate fluently in English at a technical/academic level (C1)
  • You demonstrate strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • You work independently, act proactively, and maintain a strong quality mindset with a focus on patient safety
  • You thrive in a multidisciplinary, international, and fast-paced environment
