Job description

  • Escort contractors and third-party vendors throughout the data center while ensuring compliance with site safety, security, and operational procedures
  • Create, review, update, and close preventive and corrective maintenance work orders within the CMMS
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, trends, and equipment conditions through the Building Automation System (BAS)
  • Utilize ETMS and other facility monitoring systems to track operational conditions and maintenance activities
  • Perform routine inspections of critical facility spaces and building systems
  • Identify abnormal equipment conditions and escalate issues before they impact operations
  • Support the operation and monitoring of HVAC and mechanical systems serving the data center
  • Perform minor hands-on facility maintenance including:

  • Plumbing repairs
  • Electrical troubleshooting and minor repairs
  • Carpentry
  • Door and hardware repairs
  • Lighting replacement
  • Ceiling tile replacement
  • General building repairs
  • Assist vendors and skilled trades during preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and equipment repairs
  • Verify contractor work has been completed properly and document completed activities
  • Follow strict procedures for work being performed around mission-critical infrastructure
  • Respond to facility alarms, service requests, and equipment issues as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation, equipment logs, and maintenance records
  • Follow all site safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and applicable electrical safety practices
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe mechanical and electrical spaces

Requirements

MalaceHR is seeking experienced Data Center Technicians with a strong background in the skilled trades and hands-on commercial facility maintenance. This position supports a mission-critical data center environment, so candidates must have prior experience working in a critical facilities, data center, hospital, manufacturing, semiconductor, or similarly uptime-sensitive environment. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of HVAC and building mechanical systems along with hands-on maintenance experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairs. While technical maintenance knowledge is essential, much of the day-to-day work will focus on vendor escorting, CMMS work order management, monitoring building automation systems, ETMS activities, facility inspections, and coordinating maintenance work within a highly controlled data center environment., * Previous experience in a data center, critical facilities, hospital, manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or other mission-critical facility environment

  • Strong background in the skilled trades or commercial building maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC and mechanical building systems
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general facility maintenance
  • Experience working with CMMS platforms and preventive maintenance work orders
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS)
  • Experience with ETMS or similar electrical/facility monitoring systems preferred
  • Ability to read and understand equipment information, alarms, operating procedures, and maintenance documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
  • Comfortable working around critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and escalation protocols
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with vendors, contractors, engineers, and site leadership
  • Ability to work assigned day, night, or swing shift schedules
