Job description

Join our dynamic team as a Data Center Facilities Technician reporting to the Data center Facilities Manager and become a vital part of maintaining the seamless operation of our data center facilities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of critical infrastructure, including electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing, and building interior components. Your expertise will help sustain a reliable environment for data processing and storage, supporting our mission to deliver exceptional digital services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance skills in a fast-paced, technology-driven setting., * Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, and building interior components to ensure continuous operation.

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, ohmmeters, hand tools, and other diagnostic equipment to resolve issues swiftly.
  • Conduct welding, carpentry, painting, and other mechanical tasks to maintain facility integrity and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders and asset histories.
  • Lead and assist with facilities projects involving building interior maintenance, plumbing system repairs, or HVAC upgrades while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Support facilities equipment maintenance including electrical equipment upkeek, plumbing system upkeep, and HVAC system repair to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in team efforts for facilities upgrades or emergency repairs with a focus on safety and quality standards.
  • Follow schematics and technical manuals precisely during repairs or installations to ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with internal teams regarding maintenance schedules or issues affecting operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building systems repair within a data center or similar critical infrastructure environment.
  • Mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and carpentry skills.
  • Use tools like cable testers and tone generators to verify connectivity and signal integrity.
  • General problem-solving skills
  • Diagnose and fix issues with cabling or connections
  • Able to run and terminate cables (e.g., Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic) in a data center setting
  • Electrical experience including electrical work repair, troubleshooting with schematics, use of ohmmeters, and understanding electrical codes.
  • Familiarity with HVAC system, building interior maintenance, plumbing system maintenance and repair.
  • Experience working with BMS systems/software and CMMS software for work order management.
  • Collaborate with other teams to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures involving MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) supplies and safety standards
  • Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with team members and document work accurately.
  • Able to learn and follow industry standards (e.g., ANSI/TIA, BICSI) and local building codes
