Job description

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks an Antenna Systems Engineer to design, model, and analyze advanced antenna and RF systems supporting national security, space, and sensing missions. You will develop requirements, perform electromagnetic simulations, support prototyping and testing, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate antennas into complex platforms. In APL’s collaborative, mission-driven environment, you’ll contribute to research, propose innovative solutions, document results, and present findings to sponsors while growing your technical expertise and career.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze advanced antenna and RF systems for national security and space missions.
  • Develop system and antenna requirements and perform RF link and performance analyses.
  • Build and run electromagnetic simulations using HFSS, CST, FEKO, or similar tools.
  • Support antenna prototyping, integration, and range testing to validate performance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate antennas into complex platforms.
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results and present findings to sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to research, trade studies, and innovation in next-generation antenna concepts.
  • Support proposal development and technical reports for internally and externally funded projects.
