Job description

The Support Technician will assist with imaging and deploying computers, replacing existing equipment, migrating user data, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and providing technical assistance to end users. The technician will work as part of a team under the direction of an agency subject matter expert and project manager. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the computer and docking station refresh project.
  • Image and deploy desktop and laptop computers.
  • Replace existing computers and related equipment.
  • Migrate user data from existing systems to replacement computers.
  • Install, move, maintain, test, and upgrade computer hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot and repair computers, hardware, peripherals, and related equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for hardware and application-related issues.
  • Install and configure hardware, software, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
  • Assist with testing new and existing hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot Windows operating system and computer-related issues.
  • Monitor and assist users with systems, applications, and software interfaces.
  • Access and transfer data between applicable local, state, or federal databases as required.
  • Maintain appropriate security controls over software and IT systems.
  • Document service activities, repairs, upgrades, and equipment changes.
  • Provide professional customer service and communicate effectively with end users and team members.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and complete assigned work within established deadlines.
  • Lift and relocate equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in IT support, desktop support, hardware support, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing computers, hardware, peripherals, and related equipment.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, moving, testing, upgrading, or replacing hardware and software.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Experience supporting personal computers and applicable IT systems/applications.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and basic information security practices.
  • Experience providing technical assistance to users.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a professional team environment.
  • Ability to lift and relocate equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Windows 11 technical support experience., The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with:
