Supporting high-reliability aerospace, defense, and military armament programs, McCormick Stevenson provides advanced design, analysis, system prototyping, and testing solutions. Operating in defense engineering requires uncompromising adherence to information security, system availability, and regulatory compliance. The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the overall architecture, security, performance, and maintenance of McCormick Stevenson’s enterprise IT infrastructure. This individual leads infrastructure modernization, endpoint management automation, CAD/PLM enterprise engineering software administration, and strict defense cybersecurity compliance (NIST SP 800-171 / CMMC)., * Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture & Administration: Architect, administer, and optimize the hybrid enterprise infrastructure, including Microsoft 365, Azure Cloud services, on-premises virtualized servers (Hyper-V), storage arrays, and directory services.

  • Endpoint Engineering & Automation: Lead endpoint management and automation initiatives utilizing Microsoft Intune, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting to automate software distribution, operating system deployments, patch cycles, and security baselines.
  • Engineering Ecosystem Administration: Serve as lead technical administrator for the enterprise engineering software environment, including PTC Creo, Windchill PLM, and SolidWorks; oversee license server management, client configurations, database vaulting, and engineering workstation performance tuning.
  • Cybersecurity & Regulatory Compliance: Drive the design, implementation, monitoring, and audit readiness of security controls in compliance with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC 2.0 (Level 2), and DFARS clauses to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Network Infrastructure & Technical Leadership: Manage and maintain core enterprise network infrastructure (firewalls, managed switches, routers, secure site-to-site and client VPNs, wireless systems); serve as the primary technical escalation point for IT operations and mentor junior IT personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline; and a minimum of 5-8+ years of progressive systems administration, network engineering, and infrastructure experience.
  • Identity & Cloud: Deep expertise in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Azure AD / Microsoft Entra, Microsoft 365 tenant management, and hybrid identity architectures.
  • Endpoint Management: Proven experience managing enterprise endpoint environments using Microsoft Intune.
  • Automation: Advanced scripting and automation capabilities (PowerShell, Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Engineering Systems: Direct experience administering CAD/PDM/PLM applications and license servers (PTC Windchill, Creo, SolidWorks).
  • Networking: Strong networking background including firewall configuration (Palo Alto/Cisco), VLAN segmentation, IPsec VPNs.
  • Cybersecurity Compliance: In-depth knowledge of NIST SP 800-171, CMMC 2.0, DFARS 252.204-7012, and CUI protection requirements.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Identity and Access Administrator, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP.
  • Citizenship & Security: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense Clearance if required.
