Specializing in the defense, aerospace, and commercial industries, our team delivers robust engineering, system design, analysis, and prototyping services. We pride ourselves on engineering excellence, agility, and maintaining rigorous quality and cybersecurity standards in support of national security and defense programs. The IT Support Specialist I serves as the frontline technical support resource for McCormick Stevenson personnel. This role is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, network, and application issues, while ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with defense industry cybersecurity baselines., * Frontline Technical Support: Provide primary technical assistance to staff by promptly triaging, documenting, and resolving helpdesk tickets, phone inquiries, and in-person requests for computer hardware, software, peripheral, and connectivity issues.
- Hardware Lifecycle Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT equipment, including configuring, provisioning, imaging, deploying, updating, and securely decommissioning end-user workstations, laptops, monitors, and mobile devices.
- Identity & Access Administration: Administer user accounts, groups, and permissions across Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and on-premises Active Directory; manage secure onboarding, role transitions, offboarding, password resets, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Network & Application Support: Troubleshoot client-side network and Wi-Fi connectivity, assist with secure remote VPN access, and support standard business productivity tools as well as specialized engineering design applications (e.g., PTC Creo, Windchill, SolidWorks).
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Maintain endpoint security posture in alignment with defense cybersecurity standards (including NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC requirements), verifying antivirus/EDR operation, disk encryption (BitLocker), least-privilege access, and prompt security patching.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or 0-3 years of hands-on desktop support / IT helpdesk experience.
- Proficient with Windows 10/11 operating systems and standard enterprise office applications (Microsoft 365)
- Fundamental understanding of networking concepts
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and account administration.
- Familiarity with engineering CAD/PLM applications (PTC Creo, Windchill, SolidWorks) is a strong plus.
- Citizenship & Security Requirements: Due to the nature of our defense contracts and compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR), candidates must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain security clearance.
