Job description

Are you a hands-on BI Developer with strong Power BI, SQL, and data modelling expertise? This is an opportunity to join a growing, data-driven organisation where you’ll play a key role in shaping reporting, analytics, and decision-making across the business. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to build impactful solutions while owning the end-to-end development of business intelligence products. With significant investment in analytics and reporting capabilities, they are looking to expand their data function with a BI Developer who can bridge the gap between technical delivery and stakeholder engagement. The Role As a BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising reporting and analytics solutions that support business performance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports for a range of business stakeholders
  • Designing and developing robust semantic models, star schemas, and dimensional data models
  • Writing and optimising SQL queries to support reporting and analytical requirements
  • Gathering requirements directly from stakeholders and translating them into effective BI solutions
  • Advising stakeholders on dashboard design, reporting best practice, and data visualisation
  • Managing a pipeline of reporting requests and prioritising business needs
  • Ensuring reporting solutions deliver clear commercial value and actionable insights
  • Supporting data quality, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences in a clear and engaging way

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience developing solutions in Power BI
  • Advanced understanding of DAX, data modelling, and semantic layer development
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
  • Experience designing dimensional models and star schemas
  • Proven ability to engage with business stakeholders and gather requirements
  • Experience translating business needs into impactful dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Strong communication skills and confidence presenting insights to senior stakeholders
  • A hands-on approach with a passion for delivering high-quality BI solutions
  • Experience working within analytics, business intelligence, or reporting environments
