Job description

As an Insurance Architect, you’ll contribute across a broad range of architecture and technology initiatives, with the opportunity to develop deeper expertise in one or more specialist areas.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and delivering enterprise and solution architecture across complex client engagements.
  • Developing current-state and target-state architectures, technology roadmaps and transition states.
  • Designing integration patterns, capability maps and wider architecture artefacts.
  • Working across applications, integration, data, AI, cloud and cyber security.
  • Helping clients understand how emerging technologies such as GenAI and agentic AI can solve real business problems.
  • Designing data integration solutions, automation workflows, cloud strategies and proof-of-concept builds.
  • Acting as a bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring architectural decisions are aligned with genuine business requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with client stakeholders and communicating complex technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
  • Contributing to the development of industry-specific architecture frameworks and propositions.
  • Supporting thought leadership through internal forums, blogs, presentations and innovation projects.
  • Mentoring more junior colleagues and helping develop the wider architecture capability.

Requirements

We’re interested in people with 5+ years’ experience in technology, ideally gained within Financial Services, Insurance or another regulated environment.

You should have experience across some combination of:

  • Data architecture and data platforms
  • Cloud technology
  • Systems integration
  • Cyber security
  • Enterprise or solution architecture

You’ll ideally have working knowledge of areas such as data modelling, data integration, governance, visualisation and migration, with exposure to modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake or equivalent technologies.

We’re also looking for someone who:

  • Can operate comfortably between business and technology teams.
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Can present complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Enjoys solving complex business problems through technology.
  • Is comfortable working directly with senior client stakeholders.
  • Has an interest in emerging technology, particularly AI, GenAI and automation.
  • Is commercially aware and understands the wider impact of architectural decisions.
  • Wants to develop a broader understanding of architecture beyond their current specialism.

Experience with major industry platforms such as FNZ, SS&C, Pershing, Guidewire, Sapiens, Duck Creek, Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics would be highly desirable.

About the company

Our client is one of the world’s largest professional services and technology organisations, working with some of the UK’s most prominent businesses across financial services, insurance, government and technology.

We are looking for talented Insurance Architects at Consultant and Associate Manager level to join a specialist Insurance Architecture team.

This is an opportunity to work alongside a small, high-impact team of architects and technologists, helping shape and deliver complex digital transformation programmes for some of the UK’s leading insurance and financial services organisations.

You will sit at the intersection of business and technology, working closely with senior client stakeholders to understand complex business challenges and translate them into practical technology and architecture solutions.

The team’s work spans General Insurance, Life, Pensions & Investments, London Markets, Capital Markets and wider Financial Services, with projects covering areas such as cloud transformation, digital underwriting and claims, AI and GenAI adoption, data transformation and large-scale platform modernisation.
