Job description
The Department of Technology (DOT) at Reynolds Community College is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems and Security Analyst who provides senior level support on a wide variety of technical and security functions. The position reports to the Manager of Infrastructure and Systems and provides leadership in the manager’s absence. Technical duties include but are not limited to managing the server environment, network environment, endpoint management system, account management, and threat assessments in a secure manner., Enterprise Systems Administration, Security, and Monitoring Administers, patches, secures, monitors, and troubleshoots Windows and Linux servers. Implements operating system hardening for servers and user endpoints. Administers virtualization, storage, backup, and recovery systems. Performs system maintenance and supports system availability, performance, capacity, and recoverability.
Identity, Endpoint, and Microsoft 365 Administration Administers Active Directory and Microsoft Entra user, group, and device accounts. Supports Microsoft Entra single sign-on implementations. Administers endpoint management platforms and performs software packaging and deployments. Supports Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and advanced Teams Calling functions.
Vulnerability Management, Security Remediation, and Audit Support Conducts vulnerability assessments, analyzes findings, coordinates remediation, validates corrective actions, and maintains supporting records. Provides support for quarterly and annual audits, including evidence collection, technical responses, access reviews, and remediation tracking.
Network, Infrastructure, and Change-Controlled System Implementation Supports LAN/WAN networked environments. Coordinates system updates, upgrades, integrations, and infrastructure changes. Coordinates technical activities with vendors and network engineering staff. Participates in change management review, testing, approval, implementation, validation, and rollback planning.
Continuity Planning, Incident Response, and Technical Documentation Develops and maintains disaster recovery and incident response documentation. Participates in recovery testing, BIA, incident response, system restoration, and after-action activities. Documents standard operating procedures, system configurations, incidents, findings, remediation steps, and support guidance.
Other Duties
Major System Implementations and Upgrades This position may serve as a technical lead or senior technical resource for major implementations, migrations, upgrades, integrations, and infrastructure replacement projects. Emergency Incident Response This position may be assigned to respond to cybersecurity incidents, critical outages, service disruptions, system failures, data recovery events, or other operational emergencies. Requirements
· Knowledge of security best practices · Knowledge of server platforms including Windows and Linux, and virtualized environments · Knowledge of endpoint management systems · Knowledge of MS 365 applications · Knowledge of Entra/Active Directory and account management · Knowledge of networking technologies · Knowledge of IT auditing and continuity planning Additional Considerations · Bachelors degree in information systems or related field or similar experience (masters preferred) · Previous experience in a security or systems administration role · Experience in an educational environment preferred · Security related certifications preferred · IT related certifications (Microsoft, A+, Security+, Cisco, etc.) preferred
