Job description

We are seeking a Lab IT Support Technician to support laboratory computing environments, software, networks, and connected scientific instruments. This role combines responsive end-user support with hands-on ownership of laboratory system integrations, technical documentation, and system reliability. The technician will partner closely with laboratory users, vendors, IT teams, and Quality stakeholders to support scientific operations while balancing business needs, technology standards, and vendor requirements. - Provide onsite and remote support for laboratory users, including troubleshooting hardware, operating systems, software, and connectivity issues. - Install, configure, and support instrument workstations, laboratory software, peripherals, and network connections. - Coordinate vendor installations and troubleshoot system interfaces, file transfers, and data flow issues. - Support the introduction, upgrade, relocation, and lifecycle management of laboratory systems. Assist with user access management, device deployment, endpoint security, patching, backups, and recovery activities. Maintain asset inventories, support documentation, technical diagrams, and system records. Identify recurring issues and recommend procedural improvements. Partner with system owners and Quality teams to support computer system validation and qualification activities. Collaborate with broader IT teams and assist with enterprise IT initiatives and projects as needed.

Requirements

4 to 5 years of progressive IT support and troubleshooting experience. Experience supporting scientific instrumentation, laboratory software applications, or instrument vendors within a biotech or biopharma environment. Experience supporting diverse laboratory environments with multiple software platforms and instrument types. Strong customer service mindset and solution-oriented approach. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments. Experience working in controlled (GxP) laboratory environments.
