Job description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician II to support customer data center operations in Austin, TX. This position will focus on ECU deployment and flashing, structured cabling, network connectivity, hardware installation, rack-and-stack activities, troubleshooting and documentation.

ECU Deployment and Flashing Support the staging, installation, configuration and deployment of ECUs and related hardware. Perform ECU flashing and validate successful firmware installation and configuration. Conduct pass/fail testing and document failures or technical issues requiring escalation. Verify completed ECU work against customer documentation and established work instructions. Cabling and Network Connectivity Install, route, dress, label and manage copper and fiber-optic cabling. Perform patching and connectivity changes between servers, switches, racks and other infrastructure. Trace cables and verify accurate source-to-destination connectivity. Assist with network connectivity validation and Layer 1 troubleshooting. Diagnose and resolve cabling, connectivity and physical infrastructure issues. Data Center Hardware Support Install, replace, move and troubleshoot servers, network equipment and related data center hardware. Perform rack-and-stack activities according to project requirements. Verify hardware installations against customer documentation, work instructions and labeling standards. Identify hardware and connectivity issues and escalate problems requiring engineering or advanced network support.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Data Center Technician, Network Technician, Low-Voltage Technician or in a similar hands-on technical role. 3-5 years of experience installing, terminating, patching, labeling and managing copper and fiber-optic cabling. 3-5 years of experience performing rack-and-stack activities and installing or replacing servers, switches and other data center equipment. Basic understanding of network connectivity and Layer 1 troubleshooting. Ability to trace cables and diagnose physical connectivity problems. Ability to follow technical documentation, diagrams, labeling standards and detailed work instructions. Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document completed work and technical issues. Effective communication skills when working with project leadership, customers and technical teams. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an active data center environment. Experience with ECU flashing, firmware deployment or hardware configuration. Experience supporting customer-facing data center projects. Familiarity with hardware validation, pass/fail testing and technical escalation processes
