Job description
ATS is seeking a reliable and technically skilled PC Deployment Technician to support computer hardware deployment and end-user technology activities in Baltimore, Maryland., * Load computer equipment and related assets from a central location and safely transport and unload equipment at designated installation sites.
- Deploy desktop and laptop computers, including configuration, setup, drive mapping, printer mapping, peripheral installation, and data transfer.
- Install and configure required software applications and additional applications as needed.
- Migrate user data from legacy systems to replacement computers.
- Verify that systems and required applications are properly configured and operational before completing deployment.
- Track and document hardware assets using established inventory and deployment documentation.
- Troubleshoot hardware, driver, connectivity, and other workstation-related issues.
- Communicate deployment status, technical issues, and resolutions to management.
- Remove and decommission existing computer systems as part of the replacement process.
- Remove and properly document hard drives and other designated equipment.
- Transport retired equipment back to the designated central warehouse.
- Follow established procedures for equipment handling, inventory control, deployment, and documentation.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to end users throughout the deployment process.
- Work independently and effectively with minimal immediate supervision.
- Perform other related deployment and technical support duties as assigned.
Requirements
The PC Deployment Technician will be responsible for the preparation, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, replacement, and transportation of desktop and laptop computer equipment. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
This is a full-time, onsite position. The successful candidate must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift and move computer equipment and accessories weighing more than 40 pounds. The position may also require operation of company transportation vehicles.
A criminal background check and professional reference checks are required., * Client/server operating system architectures
- Internet operations, connectivity, and workstation-level integration
- Standard web browser configuration and operation
- IEEE wiring standards
- Microsoft Outlook workstation configuration
- Outlook archiving and retrieval
- Microsoft Exchange connectivity and communication
- Desktop and laptop hardware configuration
- Peripheral device installation and configuration
- Basic hardware and driver troubleshooting, * CompTIA A+ certification required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience deploying and/or maintaining client computer systems.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability and willingness to work full-time onsite in Baltimore, Maryland.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment and accessories weighing more than 40 pounds.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Successful completion of required criminal background and reference checks., * Two-year degree from an accredited college or university in:
- Computer Science
- Information Systems
- Engineering
- Business
- Or another related scientific or technical discipline
Physical & Work Requirements
This position is primarily onsite and involves the physical handling and transportation of computer equipment. Candidates must be able to:
- Lift and move equipment weighing more than 40 pounds.
- Load, unload, and transport computer equipment and accessories.
- Travel between designated deployment and installation locations as required.
- Work onsite for the duration of scheduled deployment activities.
- Operate company transportation vehicles when required.
