We are a small team with deep system expertise who strive to build reliable, highly performant, distributed embedded systems using cutting edge software development tools and practices.We are looking for someone with similar domain expertise who is excited about working on a core vehicle function that defines the Tesla driving experience. What You’ll Do
-
Create and develop automated Softwarein the Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation infrastructure to enable reliable, efficient, thorough, accurate, and repeatable tests

Adapt existing or create new configuration management, CI tools, automated function checks, and reporting tools to meet chassis software validation needs

Develop and executeautomated regression test suitesforsafety critical chassis controls firmware

Continuously analyze and improve regression test suitecoverage
-
Own the validation release process for customer releases, including test strategy scoping, test execution, and sign off

Create and executeboard leveltest plans to expose weaknessesor faults
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

Proficiency in designing and understanding digital circuit schematics

Proficiency in Python and/or C
-
Knowledge and experience with Linux system administration is a plus (Package management, scripting, Docker)

Scripting skills in other common languages is a plus (Perl, Shell, Bash)

Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills to coordinate with the team

Knowledge and experience with automation and build tools is a plus (Jenkins, Docker,SCons)

Expected Compensation $100,000 - $360,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. About the company
TheChassis Controls team is looking for a Software QA Engineer tocreate and developvalidation software, test cases, infrastructure, and tooling to validate Tesla braking system firmware, such as Brake-by-Wire. As a Software QA Engineer, you will conceptualize, design and build software validation tools that allow rapid algorithm development, testing against real world data, regression analysis, and integrate physics-based models. You will also be closely involved with the braking system functionality, expanding our test coverage and pushing to break the code.
