Job description

Join a forward-thinking organization as an Enterprise Managed Container Platform Architect and play a pivotal role in designing, standardizing, and scaling our enterprise-grade, managed container platform across AWS EKS, ECS, and related cloud-native technologies. This fully remote position drives secure, resilient, and cost-effective solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable consistent, automated, and compliant container adoption enterprise-wide. Shape the future of our cloud-native strategy, reduce platform fragmentation, and accelerate application delivery as a hands-on architecture leader., Define and implement enterprise architecture, standards, guardrails, and reference designs for managed container platforms (EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, Docker)

  • Lead hands-on design and automation of standardized EKS clusters using Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, Helm, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps
  • Establish governance for container image security, registry controls, vulnerability scanning, signing, and supply chain risk reduction
  • Develop workload placement strategies, operational models, and responsibility matrices for platform engineering, DevOps, and application teams
  • Create reusable automation, patterns, and templates for cluster lifecycle management, upgrades, patching, scaling, and policy enforcement
  • Drive platform observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, and operational dashboards
  • Define and execute backup, restore, high-availability, resiliency, and disaster-recovery strategies for containerized workloads
  • Lead architecture reviews, decision records, and executive-ready recommendations for platform adoption and maturity
  • Mentor and guide architects, engineers, and development teams on enterprise Kubernetes/container practices and operational excellence
  • Partner with cloud, security, infrastructure, and business technology teams to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient platform operations

Requirements

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years in enterprise/cloud/platform/solution architecture, platform engineering, or DevOps
  • Proven expertise with AWS EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native container platform design and operations
  • Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, CI/CD, Helm, GitOps, and automation
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, cluster lifecycle, networking, RBAC, secrets, certificates, and workload deployment
  • Hands-on experience with container security, image scanning, registry management, and vulnerability management
  • Expertise in monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and platform observability for cloud-native environments
  • Demonstrated leadership in architecture standards, reusable patterns, governance, and operational readiness
  • Exceptional communication, documentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills

[Preferred Skills]

  • Industry experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or healthcare
  • AWS certifications in Solutions Architecture, DevOps, Security, Networking, or Kubernetes
  • Advanced hands-on experience with EKS/ECS workload placement, cluster upgrades, Fargate, Amazon ECR, IAM, and cloud-native observability
  • Proficiency with Cilium, Karpenter, Rancher, Red Hat OpenShift, Harbor, Velero, Kyverno, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Fluent Bit, Vault, Keyfactor, and similar technologies
  • Experience establishing platform engineering product models, self-service developer platforms, and communities of practice, Ready to lead the evolution of enterprise container platforms?
