Job description

Join a dynamic team as a .Net Developer, specializing in the development and maintenance of MEDIC and Multi-use Tester (MUT) Windows-based diagnostic tools for automotive ECUs. This role places you at the intersection of software engineering and hands-on hardware integration, enabling automotive technicians to diagnose and update modern vehicles. Based in Franklin, TN (remote eligible), you will collaborate closely with Service and IT teams, driving innovation in vehicle diagnostics and service solutions., Engineer robust interfaces between Windows software and vehicle diagnostic hardware to ensure seamless, reliable data transfers and device recognition.

  • Lead the design, development, and enhancement of desktop applications using WPF and WinForms to provide an integrated platform for dealer portals and service tools.
  • Manage the packaging and deployment of applications via MSI installers, guaranteeing smooth delivery and installation across diverse dealership environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues, including Windows OS stability, driver conflicts, and hardware connectivity challenges.
  • Maintain and optimize backend SQL databases and SSIS packages, supporting critical data like Service Manuals, Recalls, and TSBs for aftermarket subscriptions.
  • Collaborate onsite with Service and IT departments to align software capabilities with evolving automotive technology and diagnostic needs.

Requirements

Proficiency in .Net development for Windows environments

  • Strong experience with WPF and WinForms desktop applications
  • Expertise in hardware-software integration, especially for data transfer and device communication
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills related to Windows OS, drivers, and connectivity
  • Solid knowledge of SQL databases and SSIS package maintenance
  • Experience with MSI installer creation and software deployment at scale

  • Background in automotive OEM or related industry
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, ECUs, and dealership service operations
  • Experience working directly with IT and Service teams in a similar environment
