Job description

Job Summary: Senior Data Integration & API Engineer (Database Engineer III), Join Huntington’s dynamic Data Engineering team as a Senior Data Integration & API Engineer. In this high-impact, contract-to-hire role, you will architect and develop scalable data pipelines, seamlessly integrating API-sourced data into our AWS-based enterprise data lake and transforming it into robust, analytics-ready datasets. This is an opportunity to work cross-functionally at the intersection of integration architecture, data engineering, and analytics enablement-delivering critical, governed data assets for business insight and growth., Design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines for API and ETL workloads.

  • Build and consume integrations with APIs, focusing on delivering reliable, high-quality data.
  • Structure, model, and transform raw data into consumable, analytics-ready datasets.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Architecture, and Analytics stakeholders to align on data integration strategies.
  • Champion data modeling best practices to ensure data is organized for optimal reporting and analytical use.
  • Operate independently, requiring minimal ramp-up and oversight.
  • Maintain data governance and security standards throughout the data pipeline lifecycle.

Requirements

Demonstrated expertise in API integration and development.

  • Strong hands-on experience in architecting and building ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • Proficiency with AWS data ecosystem, especially with data lake architectures.
  • Advanced Python and SQL programming abilities.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts tailored for analytics and reporting.

[Preferred Skills]

  • Experience with Genesys APIs or Genesys platforms.
  • Contact Center operations knowledge.
  • Banking or Financial Services industry experience.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake data warehousing., Highest Priority Skills 1 API Integration Experience o Strong experience consuming and building integrations with APIs o Genesys API experience would be a major differentiator 2 Data Engineering / ETL Development o Ability to independently architect and build ingestion pipelines o Must require minimal ramp-up or handholding 3 AWS Experience o Experience working in AWS environments is preferred since Huntington’s Data Lake resides in AWS 4 Python & SQL o Core development skills required o Ability to structure and model data for reporting consumption 5 Data Modeling Mindset o Important that candidates understand how data should be organized and structured for analytics/reporting use cases o Not simply a developer role; needs someone capable of creating usable downstream data assets Nice-to-Haves · Contact Center experience · Genesys platform experience · Banking or Financial Services exposure · Snowflake familiarity
