Job description

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you’ll help design, implement and maintain security solutions that protect infrastructure, applications and data. You’ll work closely with engineering and security teams to embed security best practice, automate security processes and proactively identify and mitigate risk.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, implementing and managing security tools, systems and processes
  • Supporting security across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments
  • Working with engineering and security teams to embed security best practice
  • Automating security tooling and SIEM log ingestion/routing
  • Firewall and network security management
  • Developing and maintaining security policies, standards and procedures
  • Conducting infrastructure security assessments using tools such as CIS Benchmarks
  • Supporting incident detection, response and threat intelligence activities
  • Contributing to vulnerability management and endpoint security
  • Supporting security improvements across complex client environments

Requirements

We’re interested in engineers with experience across some of the following areas:

  • Cyber security and platform engineering
  • Networking and network security
  • Cloud security - AWS, Azure or GCP
  • CI/CD, DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code
  • Linux / WSL
  • SIEM and log management - Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Cribl or ELK
  • Python, Bash or PowerShell scripting
  • IDS/IPS, vulnerability management and endpoint security
  • SOC environments and security monitoring
  • Terraform, CloudFormation or Bicep
  • AI security or AI hardening techniques
  • Virtualisation and hybrid infrastructure

You don’t need to tick every box. We’re particularly interested in technically strong security engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and want to develop their expertise across modern security engineering.

Security Requirements Due to the nature of the work, candidates must:

  • Hold active SC clearance
  • Be a sole British national
  • Be willing to undergo any additional security screening required for the role
