job summary: We are seeking an AWS Solutions Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure Engineer) to join our Digital Modernization team. In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers to support, automate, and modernize cloud and hybrid-cloud infrastructure for federal systems. This is an excellent developmental opportunity for a technical professional with strong core networking and cloud fundamentals who wants to deepen their expertise in AWS architecture, Infrastructure-as-Code, and cloud security.

responsibilities: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and monitor AWS infrastructure components including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and load balancers.
- Deploy infrastructure changes using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Perform systematic troubleshooting on networking, DNS, operating system, connectivity, and security group issues.
- Assist with vulnerability remediation, security patching, system hardening, and compliance maintenance.
- Develop Python scripts and automation tools to streamline routine operational and administrative tasks.
qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
1 to 3 years of practical experience with AWS cloud administration and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Python).
Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, subnets, firewalls/security groups).
Knowledge of cloud security concepts, including least privilege access and vulnerability remediation.
Ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Active cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator).
Exposure to federal security frameworks, CIS Benchmarks, or STIGs.
Experience with cloud migrations and CI/CD pipelines.
