Job description

  • Support ongoing application initiatives across policy management, staff scheduling, incident reporting, and the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Coordinate application upgrades, enhancements, configuration changes, and related activities with stakeholders, application teams, and vendors.
  • Plan and support user acceptance testing (UAT), including test scenario development, tester identification, results tracking, issue management, and resolution follow-through.
  • Partner with hospital staff and subject matter experts to identify workflow challenges, application pain points, and improvement opportunities.
  • Gather, document, and communicate operational and business requirements to application and technical teams.
  • Assess impacts of application changes on workflows, policies, procedures, reporting, and staff responsibilities.
  • Coordinate implementation readiness, including communications, training, SOPs, policies, workflow documentation, and end-user support materials.
  • Track issues, decisions, dependencies, and action items and drive accountable follow-through.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource and super user for key applications, assisting staff and escalating technical issues as needed.
  • Support implementation and stabilization of newly introduced hospital applications.
  • Assist with EHR implementation planning and readiness, ensuring operational requirements and workflows are identified, documented, and represented.
  • Facilitate meetings and working sessions with operational, clinical, administrative, and technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting healthcare or hospital applications, implementations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives.
  • Understanding of healthcare operations and the relationship between technology, workflows, policies, and end-user practices.
  • Experience coordinating application testing/UAT and implementation readiness activities.
  • Ability to elicit and document business requirements, workflows, issues, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Strong organizational skills with capability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and drive issues to resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with frontline staff, leaders, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Comfort working independently to identify gaps or risks and coordinate appropriate stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Project management fundamentals and timeline management.
  • Healthcare operations insight across clinical and non-clinical environments, including EHR familiarity.
  • Regulatory and compliance awareness within hospital settings.
  • Organizational change awareness and readiness planning.
