Job description

We’re looking for a Network Engineer with solid foundations across routing, switching, Firewalls, LAN/WAN and troubleshooting who wants to develop deeper expertise across Microsoft Azure, hybrid networking, security and automation.

You’ll support a varied environment covering cloud infrastructure, corporate offices, distribution locations and retail stores, giving you exposure to significantly more than traditional BAU networking.

You’ll gain hands-on exposure to:

  • Microsoft Azure networking
  • VNets, NSGs and cloud routing
  • Azure Firewall
  • VPN Gateway and ExpressRoute
  • Cisco and Cisco Meraki
  • BGP and OSPF
  • SD-WAN and hybrid connectivity
  • Firewalls and network security
  • Retail and multi-site networking
  • Network monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Terraform, PowerShell, Python and Azure CLI
  • Network-as-Code and automation

Requirements

  • Good enterprise LAN/WAN experience
  • Strong TCP/IP and subnetting knowledge
  • Hands-on routing and switching experience
  • VLAN, VPN, NAT and ACL knowledge
  • Firewall and wireless networking experience
  • Exposure to Cisco, Meraki, SonicWall, Aruba/HPE or comparable technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • An understanding of BGP and OSPF
  • Some Azure exposure, or a genuine desire to specialise further in cloud networking
  • The confidence to take ownership of technical issues and work directly with suppliers and service providers
  • Azure experience is valuable, but you aren’t expected to already be an expert across every technology.

The key is having strong networking fundamentals, the ability to troubleshoot effectively and the ambition to develop into a well-rounded cloud and hybrid Network Engineer.

You’ll have the opportunity to build deeper capability across Azure Networking, ExpressRoute, SD-WAN, advanced routing, network security, automation and Network-as-Code, providing a genuine development path towards becoming a Senior Network Engineer.

If you’re looking for a role where you can remain hands-on while significantly expanding your cloud networking skill set, we’d love to hear from you
