Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join a cloud engineering team responsible for building, governing, and optimizing enterprise cloud environments across Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI. This team owns cloud platform engineering, landing zone architecture, and cloud infrastructure enablement for application development teams. While not directly responsible for application development, they provide the foundational cloud services, security controls, and platform support that enable developers across the organization. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, architecture, security, and financial governance, helping shape how cloud platforms are designed, secured, and consumed across the enterprise. Key responsibilities include: -Build, maintain, and support cloud landing zones and foundational cloud infrastructure across -Azure and other public cloud platforms. -Provision and troubleshoot Azure resources, cloud-native services, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters. -Review and validate cloud architectures and technical designs across Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI. -Analyze cloud usage, consumption trends, and spend to identify cost optimization opportunities and promote cost-conscious engineering practices. -Implement and enforce enterprise cloud security standards, including least-privilege access models, IAM governance, encryption, logging, monitoring, and network security controls. -Establish and maintain cloud guardrails, reference architectures, and engineering best practices to ensure secure and scalable deployments. -Partner with engineering, architecture, security, and finance teams to influence cloud strategy, platform governance, and operational excellence. -Support application teams by providing cloud infrastructure guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and secure platform capabilities.

Requirements

5-7 years of experience in Cloud Engineering (not cloud app development) -Strong hands-on experience in Azure Cloud -Experience with the least privileged model -Proven experience operating in enterprise-scale cloud environments -Experience reviewing, validating, and governing cloud architectures and technical designs -Understanding of cloud security architecture, including: IAM, Networking, Encryption, Logging & monitoring -Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Azure DevOps Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation) -Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) -Ability to balance cost, security, reliability, and scalability -Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders -Senior-level mindset with the ability to influence through expertise, not authority -GCP, AWS or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience -Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, Azure Developer certifications -Experience with multi-cloud migration or consolidation efforts -Background in regulated, highly available, or security-sensitive environments -Experience defining reference architectures, design patterns, and guardrails -Prior experience mentoring or elevating cloud engineering maturity across teams
