Job description

Lead the design, modernization, and delivery of enterprise Microsoft Azure platforms. This role combines deep Azure expertise with client leadership, solution shaping, delivery oversight, and technical mentorship.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Azure platform architecture across landing zones, identity, networking, security, governance, observability, resiliency, and cost management.
  • Translate business needs into practical platform roadmaps, engineering outcomes, and delivery plans.
  • Establish standards for Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, policy as code, DevSecOps, SRE, and operational readiness.
  • Guide cloud migrations from discovery and planning through modernization and stabilization.
  • Partner with Sales, Delivery, Microsoft, and technical leaders to qualify opportunities, define scope, estimate work, and contribute to proposals and statements of work.
  • Review technical designs, resolve complex platform risks, and guide sound engineering decisions.
  • Mentor architects and engineers while strengthening technical capability and engineering practices.
  • Apply Azure-first expertise across broader cloud, security, data, and application ecosystems when needed.
  • Lead the strategy, architecture, and adoption of enterprise AI, agentic, and automation platforms, defining the guardrails, governance, integration patterns, and operating models required to deploy intelligent systems at scale while balancing innovation, risk, security, and business value

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading enterprise Azure platform, infrastructure, migration, or modernization initiatives.
  • Strong Azure architecture expertise across landing zones, Microsoft Entra ID, networking, security, governance, compute, containers, observability, resiliency, and cost optimization.
  • Experience with Terraform and/or Bicep, GitHub or Azure DevOps, CI/CD, scripting, automation, and production operations.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native platform operations.
  • Consulting experience communicating with executive, business, architecture, security, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Experience shaping technical solutions, defining scope, estimating delivery, and supporting proposals or statements of work.
  • Strong technical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to move teams from ambiguity to action.
  • A collaborative leadership style focused on mentorship, accountability, quality, and client outcomes.
  • Responsible use of generative AI and coding assistants, including validation of outputs.

Valuable Additional Experience

Azure migration and hybrid services, enterprise AKS, FinOps, reliability engineering, multi-cloud delivery, M&A or tenant transitions, AI/ML infrastructure, and relevant technical certifications.

  • Senior Principal: $186,000 - $257,000
  • Director: $213,000 - $293,000

All other locations:

  • Senior Principal: $171,000 - $236,000
  • Director: $195,000 - $269,000
