Job description

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst/Scientist to support a Customer Analytics and Digital Products team within a large utility organization.

This is a great opportunity for a data professional with hands-on utility and AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) data experience who enjoys working with large datasets, identifying trends and data quality issues, and turning complex information into clear, actionable business insights.

You will work closely with Product Owners, engineers, and business stakeholders to analyze utility customer data, support customer-facing digital products, and develop dashboards and reporting that help improve product performance and customer experience.

Please note: Meaningful utility industry and AMI data experience is required for this position. Candidates without AMI/utility experience will not be considered.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze large, multi-source datasets, including AMI usage, customer billing, and digital engagement data
  • Review and validate data extracts, dashboards, and reports for accuracy, anomalies, trends, and data quality issues
  • Identify patterns, common themes, and opportunities within large data sets
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations
  • Support analytics for customer-facing digital products, including rate recommendation and bill comparison tools
  • Analyze historical usage and billing data to support digital product functionality and improvements
  • Track website and digital product engagement, including page views, clicks, and customer interactions
  • Partner with Product Owners, engineers, and business SMEs on data integrations, testing, validation, and product improvements
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear business insights and recommendations
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Requirements

MUST HAVES: Advanced Metering Infrastructure Experience, Utility company experience, Power BI, Databricks….applicants without these can not be considered, * Bachelor’s degree

  • 2+ years of professional data analysis experience
  • Hands-on experience working with utility industry data and AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) data
  • Strong understanding of utility customer usage data
  • Experience analyzing large data extracts/datasets and identifying trends, anomalies, patterns, and data quality issues
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboards, reporting, and data visualization
  • Experience working with large, multi-source datasets
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical findings into clear business recommendations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, Product Owners, and business stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) data or tools experience
  • Google Analytics or digital engagement analytics experience
  • Experience analyzing website activity, page views, clicks, and customer interactions
  • Experience developing recurring reports and customer-facing analytics
  • Experience supporting digital products or customer-facing technology
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, * Utility Industry / Utility Data: 2+ years
  • AMI Data: Required
  • Data Analysis: 2+ years
