Test Automation Engineer

We are seeking a senior Test Automation Engineer (SDET) to lead, design, and establish the automated testing approach across web, API, and mobile applications. Working on-site in Chicago within an agile delivery environment, you will build and evolve reusable test frameworks, integrate continuous testing into CI/CD pipelines, and elevate overall application quality and stability. DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, reusable automated test suites for web, API, and mobile applications.
• Define and drive the overall test automation strategy, standards, and best practices across the QA organization.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable build validation and continuous testing.
• Analyze test results, triage failures, and collaborate with developers and product owners to resolve defects.
• Own and evolve test automation frameworks, tooling, and infrastructure to improve scalability and execution speed.
• Partner with software developers and analysts to refine acceptance criteria and ensure coverage of critical user flows.
• Lead test planning for complex features, including effort estimation, risk identification, and regression/smoke coverage.
• Mentor QA and development team members on automation patterns, quality practices, and effective tool usage., * Design, build, and maintain automated test suites and frameworks using modern testing tools.
• Integrate automated regression and smoke testing into continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Partner with software developers and product teams to analyze requirements, triage failures, and resolve defects.
• Track quality metrics, optimize test stability, and mentor team members on test automation practices.

• 10+ years of experience in Test Automation Development in an SDET role.
• Strong software development background in JavaScript, C#, JScript, and VB Script.
• Hands-on scripting and framework development experience using TestComplete (SmartBear).
• Practical experience with source control systems including Git, TFS, and SVN.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience with Playwright test automation framework.
• Practical experience testing Angular web applications.
