Job description

Apply and validate data mining methods and machine learning models.
Design and implement data-driven solutions, with a specific focus on advanced analytical methods, data models, and visualizations.
Develop quantitative simulations and models to provide descriptive and predictive analytics solution recommendations.
Identify trends and problems through complex big data analysis.
Maintain current knowledge of emerging tools and techniques in machine learning, statistical modeling, and analytics.
Serve as a key member of a data science project team, supporting other data scientists and consultants in the performance of assigned tasks.

Requirements

6+ years of relevant experience in applied research directed to machine learning, data science, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research, or a closely related quantitative or mathematical discipline.
Advanced Degree (Master’s) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a closely related quantitative or mathematical discipline.
Demonstrated experience with data mining methods, databases, data visualization, and machine learning., * Experience with analytic techniques such as anomaly detection, clustering, entity resolution, risk-based modeling, and network and cohort analysis.
Expertise with Qlik and/or other BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud-based distributed database technologies.
Strong SQL skills and demonstrated experience with cleaning, managing, optimizing performance, and processing large volumes of data.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills., * Must possess an active TS clearance, CBP BI, or DHS Suitability (adjudicated within the past 4 years)., * The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
