Remote BI Developer (Power BI)The roleYou ll own the BI layer of client projects from understanding business requirements and defining metrics to modeling data in Power BI and shipping executive and operational dashboards.You ll work directly with CFOs, COOs, and other business leaders to understand how their business works, translate ambiguous questions into clear reporting requirements, and build analytics that help them make better decisions.This is not a ticket-queue reporting role.You ll be expected to understand the business problem, challenge unclear requirements, validate the numbers, and own the quality of what gets delivered.What youll doBuild executive and operational dashboards in Power BIDesign robust Power BI semantic models and dimensional data modelsWrite DAX measures and SQL to support reporting and analysisTranslate business requirements into clear KPIs, metrics, and reporting logicWork with financial and operational data from ERP, CRM, accounting, project management, and other business systemsValidate data and reconcile reporting against source systemsWork directly with client stakeholders to gather requirements, explain results, and iterate on solutionsImprove dashboard usability, performance, and maintainabilityCollaborate with Analytics Engineers working on warehouses, pipelines, dbt models, and semantic layersManage multiple client projects and keep them movingWhat you need3+ years of experience in BI development, data analytics, or a similar roleStrong hands-on Power BI experienceStrong DAX, including experience building non-trivial measures and KPI logicStrong SQLExperience designing data models for BI, including dimensional/star-schema modelingAbility to turn messy business requirements into clear, useful dashboardsExperience working with financial and operational business dataGood understanding of metrics such as revenue, gross margin, profitability, utilization, project/job performance, and variance analysisStrong attention to detail and ability to validate that numbers are correctClear written and spoken English.Youll be client-facing.Ownership.You ship without being chased.Nice to haveExperience with dbtExperience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Fabric, Databricks, or similarPower BI Service, deployment pipelines, RLS, performance optimization, and governance experienceExperience with systems like NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, ServiceTitan, or ProcoreExperience working with LLMs or AI analytics on top of structured dataBackground in consulting or agency workPythonPower BI, Python, dbt, SQL, DAX
