Job description
This role is focused on modernizing and consolidating the organization’s data center infrastructure. The environment currently includes a mix of legacy storage platforms and a dual hypervisor setup (VMware and Nutanix), with a strategic shift underway toward standardizing on Nutanix.
The engineer will play a key role in planning and executing this transition-migrating workloads, optimizing performance, and ensuring stability throughout the consolidation process. In parallel, they will help streamline data management by moving file shares and backup workloads into Cohesity, which serves as the central data protection and file services platform.
There is also a cloud integration component, as the organization leverages Wasabi for cost-effective object storage. The engineer will help integrate Cohesity with Wasabi to support offsite storage, scalability, and long-term retention strategies.
Beyond project work, this role includes hands-on responsibility for day-to-day operations-maintaining infrastructure health, troubleshooting issues, and supporting end users and internal teams. Overall, it’s a blend of operational support and forward-looking transformation work across compute, storage, and data management.
