Job description

As a member of the Data Platform Team, you will contribute to building and maintaining data engineering solutions. The initial project scope focuses on web scraping pipelines, grounded in software and data engineering fundamentals. * You will help build and test data ingestion pipelines, as well as present results in meetings and/or document them in tools such as Wiki, Jira, or GitLab.

  • You will support the development, testing, and maintenance of web scraping workflows in close collaboration with Data Engineers, a Product Owner, and other stakeholders.
  • Furthermore, you will also assist the team in explaining and illustrating solutions and new insights in a clear and understandable way to colleagues outside the field.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * You have foundational programming skills in Python and are comfortable working with SQL. You are interested in data engineering and web scraping, ideally with some first practical experience.

  • You are familiar with data pipeline concepts (e.g. ETL/ELT, batch ingestion) and version control using Git. Experience working on a shared codebase is a plus.
  • You are fluent in English, as documentation and communication in our international team are mainly in English.
  • You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively, take ownership of smaller topics, and feel comfortable working in an agile environment (e.g. sprints, tasks, user stories, bugs).
  • You are familiar with common tools such as MS Office; experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira) is a plus.
  • If available, we’d love to see a sample of your code (e.g. via GitHub/GitLab or as an attachment), for example from a university project, bachelor’s thesis, or hackathon.
