Firmware Engineer

As a Firmware Engineer, you are engaged with the local team in all phases of the development lifecycle for a wide range of solutions, from residential and light commercial & industrial products to communication systems., * Operating in a rigorous development environment with regular, internal integration and external customer-facing system releases.

• Assisting in design, documentation, development, debugging, validation and maintenance of code.
• Implementing standards-compliant (ISO, IEEE, etc.) features within approved regulatory frameworks such as FCC and UL.
• Developing firmware and associated unit tests in C/C++.
• Identifying, analyzing, documenting and resolving defects, errors and inconsistencies in firmware using standard practices and procedures.
• Supporting products after they’ve been deployed to the field across their 20+-year lifetime: from initial programming to routine upgrades to low-battery end-of-life support.
• Hands-on debugging in the hardware lab.

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• C/C++
• At least one scripting language such as Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Linux shell, C#
• Embedded programming, RTOS, assembly
• Computer architecture, RF, network protocol, layer models, communications between devices or tasks
