Development Manager

Job Description An Insight Global client is seeking an organized, process-driven Development Manager to direct and support our remote engineering squad of 6 developers. In this role, you will focus on execution, team management, and operational clarity-bridging the gap between leadership priorities and technical delivery for our pharmacy SaaS platform. You will serve as the primary facilitator for sprint execution, developer productivity, cross-departmental bug escalations, and internal process improvements. Key Responsibilities · Workload & Sprint Management: Translate executive leadership priorities into actionable sprint tasks, assign deliverables across a team of 6 developers, and maintain balanced workloads. · Team Leadership & Hiring: Recruit, onboard, and train new engineering team members. Set clear daily expectations, monitor productivity, and keep a fully remote team aligned and on task. · Support & Bug Escalation: Serve as the direct point of contact for the Customer Support team to triage, prioritize, and assign software bug fixes and technical issues without derailing core sprint goals. · Tooling & Workflow Optimization: Research, evaluate, and implement tools and platforms (e.g., ticketing systems, documentation portals, workflow tools) to streamline development velocity and communication. · Delivery & Best Practices: Enforce quality execution across the team through regular code reviews, consistent sprint cadences, and clear process documentation. · Special Projects Execution: Lead operational and technical initiatives, such as assessing knowledge base software, setting up new internal tracking systems, or assisting with enterprise readiness projects (e.g., SOC 2 compliance evidence gathering). Key Success Metrics · On-time completion of leadership-defined sprint goals and roadmap milestones. · Maintain high developer productivity, clear daily task ownership, and team accountability. · Prompt resolution times (SLA adherence) for support-escalated technical bugs. · Successful evaluation and adoption of new operational tools and special project initiatives.

Skills and Requirements · Team Leadership: 2+ years of experience leading, managing, or coordinating small remote development teams (4-8 engineers). · Agile & Delivery Focus: Strong track record in sprint planning, backlog grooming, task tracking, and workload distribution using tools like Jira, GitHub, or Linear. · Operational & Cross-Functional Mindset: Excellent communication skills with proven ability to partner with Customer Support/Success to resolve operational bottlenecks and support escalations. · Process-Driven: Experience evaluating, selecting, and rolling out internal tools, documentation platforms, or operational workflows for a technical team. · Background: Prior hands-on experience in software development, with a primary career interest shifted toward delivery management, team facilitation, and operational execution rather than software architecture. - degree or any technical certifications We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
