Maximo Solutions Architect / Developer

The Senior Solutions Architect/Developer serves as the hands-on technical leader for IBM Maximo Application Suite business solutions. The role designs Maximo solutions within the established enterprise and platform architecture, develops and integrates Maximo capabilities, guides solution-level technical decisions, and converts asset-management, maintenance, and operational needs into secure, reliable, maintainable, and user-centered Maximo solutions in collaboration with business users, technology teams, vendors, and leadership. * Lead the solution design and technical delivery of IBM Maximo Application Suite business solutions, including configurations, applications, integrations, data flows, workflows, reporting, automation, mobile capabilities, and related platform services. * Evaluate asset-management, maintenance, and operational requirements; assess existing Maximo capabilities, constraints, and technical options; and produce solution designs, specifications, estimates, roadmaps, and implementation recommendations that align with established architecture and balance value, risk, scalability, supportability, and cost. * Design, configure, develop, test, deploy, and document Maximo applications, Automation Scripts, workflows, escalations, BIRT reports, dashboards, notifications, integrations, APIs, and Maximo Mobile enhancements throughout their lifecycle. * Configure, support, and enhance Maximo Mobile applications to enable reliable field maintenance operations in both online and offline environments. * Apply established Maximo architecture and reusable solution-design patterns, and define configuration and development standards, source-control practices, testing approaches, documentation requirements, and release-management controls for assigned solutions. * Partner with Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Information Technology, and other stakeholders to map current and future processes, identify opportunities for simplification and automation, and translate needs into integrated Maximo solutions with measurable operational value. * Design, secure, monitor, and troubleshoot integrations between Maximo and ERP, financial, procurement, GIS, IoT, mobile, analytics, and other operational systems using Maximo Integration Framework, APIs, web services, middleware, and data exchanges. * Own the diagnosis and resolution of complex Maximo production issues involving configuration, integrations, data, security, reporting, workflows, mobile functionality, performance, and infrastructure dependencies. * Review Maximo solution designs and code, identify technical risks and dependencies, and provide technical direction and mentoring to internal team members, consultants, support representatives, and vendors. * Plan and support Maximo prototypes, testing, deployments, upgrades, migrations, training, change management, disaster recovery, and post-implementation stabilization while maintaining complete solution-design, technical, and user documentation. * Apply established enterprise and Maximo platform architecture principles, cybersecurity standards, data governance practices, and internal controls to Maximo solutions to protect confidentiality, integrity, availability, interoperability, and audit readiness.

This is a contract with potential to be hired on permanently at around 130-150K, depending on level of education and experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and directly related experience may be considered in place of the degree requirement.
• Seven years of progressively responsible experience designing and developing IBM Maximo or IBM Maximo Application Suite solutions, including demonstrated leadership of solution design, technical design, and development decisions within an established Maximo platform architecture.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing IBM Maximo Application Suite 9.1 solutions, including applications, Automation Scripts, workflows, escalations, integrations, reports, dashboards, and Maximo Mobile capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience translating asset-management, maintenance, operational, security, integration, and data requirements into scalable Maximo solution designs and technical specifications that align with established enterprise and platform architecture.
• Advanced development experience with applicable Maximo technologies such as Jython, Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL, REST APIs, web services, BIRT, Maximo Integration Framework, Maximo Application Framework, or comparable tools.
• Experience using artificial intelligence-assisted development tools to accelerate solution design, coding, testing, debugging, and technical documentation while applying appropriate security, privacy, quality, and governance controls.
• Experience designing and building secure, reusable integrations between Maximo and enterprise applications, databases, cloud services, middleware, and external platforms.
• Experience applying established Maximo architecture patterns, development standards, integration patterns, data models, source-control practices, automated testing approaches, code-review standards, and technical documentation requirements to solution delivery.
• Experience evaluating Maximo solution options, identifying technical risks and dependencies, estimating development effort, producing solution roadmaps, and presenting solution-design decisions and recommendations to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to produce software designs, data models, integration designs, solution diagrams, technical specifications, and maintainable code, and to communicate complex technical decisions clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Ability to lead solution design and development work across multiple Maximo initiatives, conduct design and code reviews, mentor developers, and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, platform-architecture owners, technical teams, consultants, and vendors.
• Experience designing Maximo solutions for SaaS environments using established cloud and platform architecture, APIs, integration platforms, event-driven patterns, DevOps pipelines, automated testing, and observability.
• Experience planning, testing, deploying, or supporting an implementation or upgrade to IBM Maximo Application Suite 9.2.
• Experience with enterprise ERP, financial, procurement, GIS, IoT, or operational system integrations.
• Experience with Power BI, enterprise analytics, dashboards, or data visualization tools.
• Experience in public-sector, transportation, maritime, utilities, facilities management, or other complex operating environments.
• Experience coordinating consultants, vendors, system upgrades, module expansions, or business-process improvements., * Preferred certifications include IBM Maximo certification, IBM Certified Deployment Professional, Microsoft Power BI certification, Project Management Professional, or a comparable credential.
