Job description

At cb5, we are on a mission to find exceptional talent. Our tight-knit organization is led by five brothers, each technology leaders in their respective technical fields and driven to foster a culture of excellence through solidarity. We are seeking a Maximo Technical Developer to serve as a member of an enterprise asset management modernization team.

This position requires deep hands-on experience with Maximo technical development, legacy Java customization analysis, automation scripting, integration framework development, and large-scale data migration. You will retire unsupported customizations from a Maximo 7.6 environment and rebuild that capability on IBM-supported configuration methods in MAS 9.1, with no reliance on proprietary or vendor-owned code.

This position supports a Department of War customer at Patrick Space Force Base and Vandenberg Space Force Base. The role is primarily remote with periodic travel to customer locations.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will:

· Inventory all existing customizations in the Maximo 7.6 environment, including custom Java code, compiled extensions, custom applications, reports, workflows, escalations, database extensions, and integrations.

· Analyze each customization and produce a modernization plan that retires unsupported code while preserving business functionality.

· Rebuild legacy capability using Automation Scripts, the Maximo Integration Framework, domains, conditional expressions, workflows, Application Designer, Database Configuration, and IBM-supported MAS extensions.

· Avoid all prohibited approaches, including proprietary application frameworks, vendor-owned source code, unsupported database modifications, and direct product code modification.

· Rebuild and validate custom reports, preserving existing report content and output.

· Migrate and modernize DAAS/DLMS interfaces, including the 527R, 832N, 846P, 846R, 867I, 945A, and 947I transaction sets, using X12 and DLMS XML standards.

· Develop data migration and extract, transform, and load routines from Microsoft SQL Server into MAS 9.1, covering approximately 89,000 assets, 210,485 inventory items, 3,448 locations, and 729 storerooms.

· Build reconciliation queries and evidence artifacts supporting record count, attribute, inventory, cost, asset, and property validation to a 100% standard.

· Support MAS 9.1 deployment on Single Node OpenShift within AWS, including configuration, hardening, and patch management in coordination with the platform team.

· Execute unit, system, integration, migration, performance, and security testing and remediate defects.

· Author technical sections of the Operations Runbook and support knowledge transfer during hypercare.

Requirements

  • Must have 7, or more, years of IBM Maximo technical development experience. May be reduced with completion of advanced education.

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency with Maximo Automation Scripting in Python or JavaScript and with the Maximo Integration Framework.

  • Must have Java experience sufficient to read, analyze, and decompose legacy compiled Maximo customizations.

  • Must have strong SQL skills with Microsoft SQL Server, including complex data extraction, transformation, and reconciliation queries.

  • Must have experience developing Maximo reports using BIRT.

  • Must have experience supporting a Maximo data migration or version upgrade project.

  • Must have experience delivering customizations using IBM-supported configuration methods rather than product source code modification.

  • Must have an active DoD/DoW Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must have 1, or more, DoD 8570 certifications (such as Security+)., · Have a Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

· Have hands-on experience deploying or administering IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.x or 9.x on Red Hat OpenShift.

· Have experience with AWS GovCloud or another accredited government cloud environment.

· Have experience implementing DLMS or DAAS electronic data interchange transactions.

· Have experience with containerized deployment, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.

· Have experience supporting Authority to Operate documentation and security control validation.

· Have an IBM Maximo certification.
