Job description

About WisprWispr is an AI research and product company building the voice interface for computing. AI can now reason, code, and act. Yet, humans still do the work of the interface. We think that’s backwards. Our first products are Flow, which lets you speak naturally in any application, and Notetaker, which builds context across conversations. We’re building toward an interface that can perceive, understand, and take action with earned trust. That means solving hard problems across models, systems, and product - and caring about the final human experience as deeply as the technology underneath it.We’re a talent-dense team that holds strong opinions, tests them quickly, and builds technology that sparks joy. Our goal is to build the first voice interface used every day by a billion people.About the roleYou’ll own the hard systems at the center of our product surface, across existing products, new launches, or feature-specific initiatives. You’ll make ambiguous quality problems measurable, solve them at their root, and build approaches the team can reuse. What youll doBuild the detection, inference, state, and delivery systems behind critical experiencesInstrument difficult problems before choosing a solutionEstablish evidence of correctness when ground truth is unavailableMake principled tradeoffs across imperfect signals, edge cases, and user impactTurn persistent quality problems into comprehensible, repeatable systemsPartner with product and platform teams to determine where systems should liveYou may be a fit ifYou’ve shipped a complex system with interacting failure modesYou’ve owned a system whose correctness was difficult to observeYou’ve defined a quality metric whose meaning was itself contestedYou combine systems thinking with product intuition and user empathyYou’re a recent, hands-on implementer who follows problems across boundariesYou are detail-oriented, think from first principles, and own ambiguous outcomesExperience with signal processing, fraud, ranking, anomaly detection, or ML evaluation may translate well.
