Senior Solutions Engineer

At Sovos, we’re building something new: a dedicated sales team for our growing portfolio of AI-native offerings spanning financial orchestration, compliance automation, and intelligent invoicing. You’ll be one of the first technical sellers on this team, helping us build the playbook from the ground up. This is not a support role that ends with a good demo. You’ll own technical opportunities end-to-end, configuring the platform to a client’s real environment and building the technical proof points your AE partner uses to close.

More specifically, you will:

• Carry a quota tied to technical opportunity progression from discovery through close, owning the full technical sale.
• Build the technical inputs (POC results, integration effort, system fit) that feed the ROI/TCO business case and drive decision-making.
• Lead technical workshops and proofs of concept with clear success criteria, partnering with your AE to navigate objections and drive opportunities to a decision.
• Configure the platform against a client’s real data and workflows, navigating model routing, APIs, integrations, data governance, and security with Engineering and IT.
• Translate technical solutions into ROI, TCO, and operational impact for Finance and executive stakeholders, moving fluidly between technical and business conversations.
• Stay engaged through kickoff and early delivery to maintain technical continuity with the implementation team, building relationships with champions and decision-makers across technical, financial, and executive functions.
• Shape the qualification criteria, demo approach, and business case format this team will use going forward, bringing customer and market feedback back into how Sovos positions its AI-native offerings.

• You’ve successfully led business process transformation or consulting engagements, whether at a consulting firm, in-house, or in another client-facing environment.
• You have procurement or AP expertise, ideally having worked buyer-side to understand client pain points deeply.
• You have enough systems fluency to know where a client’s data lives (SAP vs. Ariba vs. elsewhere) and how workflows cross systems. Familiarity with AI gateways, model routing, or data governance is a plus.
• You’ve owned pre-sale cycles end-to-end in complex B2B deals, with measurable impact on deal progression and close rates.
• You’re comfortable building executive-level business cases, including ROI and TCO analyses, and moving between technical and executive conversations in the same meeting.
• Preferred: experience at a consulting firm with a finance transformation or automation practice, experience selling AI infrastructure or AI-assisted workflow automation, or experience helping launch a new product or build an early go-to-market motion.
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire.
