Solutions Engineer

At Sovos, we’re building a dedicated sales team from the ground up for our growing portfolio of AI-native offerings in financial orchestration, compliance automation, and intelligent invoicing. You’ll be one of the first technical sellers on this team, helping shape the playbook as we scale. This isn’t a support role that ends with a good demo - you’ll own technical opportunities end-to-end, configuring the platform to real client environments and building the technical proof points that close deals.

More specifically, you will:

• Own the technical sale from discovery through close, carrying a quota tied to technical opportunity progression and building the technical inputs (POC results, integration effort, system fit) that feed the business case.
• Lead technical workshops and proofs of concept with clear success criteria, partnering with your AE to navigate objections, build urgency, and drive opportunities to decision.
• Configure the platform against each client’s real data and workflows, navigating model routing, APIs, integrations, data governance, and security conversations with Engineering and IT teams.
• Translate technical solutions into ROI, TCO, and operational impact for Finance and executive stakeholders, moving fluidly between architecture and business conversations in the same meeting.
• Stay engaged through kickoff and early delivery to maintain technical continuity with implementation teams, building relationships with champions and decision-makers across technical, financial, and executive functions.
• Help shape the qualification criteria, demo approach, and business case format this team will use going forward, bringing customer and market feedback back into how Sovos positions and packages its AI-native offerings.
• Leverage AI tools to improve discovery, tailor technical demonstrations, and accelerate proof-of-concept design and delivery.

• You’ve built solid experience in consulting, Big Four, or business process transformation, with procurement or AP expertise ideally gained from working buyer-side rather than solely in an advisory capacity.
• You have enough systems fluency to know where a client’s data lives (SAP vs. Ariba vs. elsewhere) and how workflows cross systems - deep technical build skills are not required, though familiarity with AI gateways, model routing, or data governance is preferred.
• You’ve carried quota or direct deal-closing ownership of the pre-sale cycle with a track record of independently winning complex B2B opportunities and clear revenue accountability.
• You’ve demonstrated ability to build executive-level business cases, including ROI and TCO analyses, and you’re comfortable moving between technical and executive conversations in the same day or even the same meeting.
• Comfort with AI-assisted workflows and using intelligent tools to accelerate discovery, demonstrations, and technical design work.
• Experience at a consulting firm with a finance transformation or automation practice, selling AI infrastructure, applications, workflow automation, or finance technology, or helping launch a new product or build an early go-to-market motion is strongly preferred.
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire.
