We are seeking a hands-on technical, creative, detail-oriented Immersive Media Studio Operator to drive our real-time virtual sets, augmented reality (AR), and extended reality (XR) workflows. In this role, you will work with Ross Video Voyager VR platform and Unreal Engine during live-to-tape and real-time broadcast productions. As well as other 3D software applications such as Blender, Cinema 4D, etc.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Technical Operations: Operate a variety of studio and control room equipment, including multi-camera arrays, PTZ cameras, video switchers, teleprompters, digital audio boards, and LED lighting grids.
  • Graphics & Playback: Manage and execute real-time on-air elements using systems such as Xpression Graphics, ensuring correct lower thirds, playback loops, and visual assets are deployed seamlessly.
  • Control Room Support: Monitor signal integrity, waveform monitors, vector scopes, and audio/video levels to guarantee high-quality broadcast feeds
  • Student & Intern Mentorship: Guide, instruct, and supervise production interns and students on proper studio workflows, equipment handling, and safety measures in alignment with BronxNet’s workforce training goals.
  • Workplace Learning: Work cross-departmentally to contribute to internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions to advance staff proficiency in immersive media software and industry best practices for AR/XR/VR production.
  • Asset Management: log, track, and report technical malfunctions or equipment failures to the engineering team.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Media Technology, Television/Broadcasting, Communications, or a related field (equivalent hands-on industry experience will be considered).
  • Experience: 1-3 years of professional experience operating within a live television control room, multi-camera studio, or media production environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proven proficiency in Ross Video Voyager graphics platform and Unreal Engine. As well as proficiency in 3D software applications such as Cinema 4D, Blender or similar programs. Knowledgeable in operating broadcast switchers, digital audio consoles, studio cameras, teleprompters, and media encoding/streaming software. High proficiency in Apple Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud tools (especially After Effects, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and Frame.io) is strongly preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate technical workflows patiently and clearly to community members of diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Grace Under Pressure: Ability to work well with tight timelines and deadlines, and thrive in pressure-driven production environments.

Physical & Environmental Demands:

  • Must be able to work on-site in studio control rooms and enclosed studio environments.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods during long production schedules.
  • Must be able to safely lift, carry, and maneuver production equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends based on studio production slates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-centric media infrastructure and live-streaming workflows.
  • Experience with IP-based broadcast workflows and network media systems
