Technical Staff Engineer-Product/Test

Microchip Technology is looking for an experienced test engineer to support test program development within the Mixed Signal Linear Business Unit. The candidate will work in a team environment interacting with Design, Product, Applications, and Marketing to develop capabilities to validate, test, and characterize application-specific integrated circuits that are designed primarily for use in residential and commercial smoke and carbon monoxide detection systems., * Participate and contribute in cross functional team to support new product introductions.

• Collaborate with engineering and production to define test system requirements and supporting infrastructures
• Develop, debug, release automated test system hardware and software for both engineering and production use.
• Support sustaining of existing automated test system hardware and software to insure efficient, cost effective manufacturing solutions.
• Mentor less experienced test engineers.

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with >10 years’ experience developing ATE test solutions for integrated circuits.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to excel in a multidisciplinary team environment across multiple locations
• Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Must have knowledge of semiconductors, statistics, analog and digital circuit theory and circuit analysis, and semiconductor IC testing.
• Must have experience with ATE systems, preferably Teradyne ® ETS-xxx

Preferred Requirements

• 10+ years’ C++ programming experience in Windows Environment
• 10+ years’ experience testing and troubleshooting electronics circuitry
• 10+ years’ experience with Automated Test Equipment (Teradyne ® ETS-xxx)
• Familiarity with schematic capture CAD software
• Familiarity with Underwriters Laboratory ® compliance standards
