Senior IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) Systems Engineer job in Phoenix

&bull Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM i (AS/400) systems. &bull Perform IBM i operating system upgrades, PTF management, and system maintenance. &bull Monitor and optimize system performance, storage utilization, and capacity. &bull Configure and manage user profiles, security policies, and access controls. &bull Support backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery initiatives. &bull Manage job queues, subsystems, output queues, and workload performance. &bull Troubleshoot operating system, hardware, and application-related issues. &bull Support application development and deployment teams. &bull Implement automation and operational best practices. &bull Maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures. &bull Participate in production support and on-call rotations.

&bull 5+ years of experience supporting IBM i / AS/400 environments. &bull Strong experience with:

oIBM i (i5/OS, OS/400)

oPower Systems

oCL Programming (CLP)

oControl Language Commands

oSystem Administration &bull Experience with:

oPTF Management

oSystem Save/Restore Procedures

oBackup and Recovery

oBRMS (Backup, Recovery and Media Services)

oJob Scheduling

oPerformance Monitoring &bull Strong knowledge of:

oLibraries, oDb2 for i

oIntegrated File System (IFS)

oTCP/IP Networking

oFTP/SFTP

oSSL/TLS Security &bull Familiarity with virtualization technologies:

oPowerVM

oVIOS

oLogical Partitions (LPARs)

Performance & Infrastructure Experience &bull System performance tuning &bull Storage optimization &bull Job scheduling and workload management &bull Capacity planning &bull High availability configuration &bull Disaster recovery testing &bull Security auditing and compliance &bull Hardware and operating system upgrades

Education &bull Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
