Job description

As a Test Engineer, you’ll review requirements to decide what functionality needs testing, through both manual and automated testing. You’ll design, write, run and maintain software test plans and test cases. You’ll test applications and document, track and report defects. You’ll also analyze test results, help find the root cause of issues and re-test after fixes. The Test Engineer sets and monitors quality control checkpoints, shares test results with internal stakeholders and tracks metrics to meet service level agreements and quality standards. You’ll join a collaborative team that works on high-priority projects. We’re looking for a self-starter who will meet established service level agreements and keep quality high.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Test Engineer
  • Experience writing and running SQL queries
  • Experience testing Java-based applications
  • Experience with quality assurance testing, including analysis, defining what needs testing, writing test plans and running tests, both manually and with automation tools
  • Experience across the full development lifecycle and with end-to-end testing
  • Ability to collaborate well in a remote work environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Flexibility as priorities and requirements change
  • A proven track record of taking initiative and driving a plan to completion
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or a related field
  • Experience with manual API testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI
  • Experience writing and running SQL queries for validation and testing
  • Knowledge of source control practices and tools such as Git or Bitbucket
  • Experience working on Agile/Scrum sprint teams with tools such as Jira, Bitbucket and Confluence
