Job description

As a Data Engineer, you will build reliable data pipelines, improve data quality and help teams access and use trusted data. Working closely with business and technology colleagues, you will drive enterprise-wide data harmonisation and develop a low-code/no-code self-service onboarding platform that makes data integration easier and more scalable. Ready to shape the future of data at RWEST? About the role

  • Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that integrate data from diverse sources into the RWEST Data Platform.
  • Drive enterprise-wide data harmonisation by partnering with business stakeholders to improve data quality, metadata, consistency of data standards and the overall data estate.
  • Architect and deliver a low-code/no-code self-service data onboarding platform, enabling scalable, user-friendly data integration across the organisation.
  • Develop reusable data models and transformations that deliver consistent, trusted datasets for analytics, trading and AI use cases.
  • Embed automated testing, monitoring, lineage and governance into data pipelines to strengthen reliability, traceability and security.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects and business teams to translate requirements into production-ready data solutions and improve performance and cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong data engineering experience using Python and SQL to build reliable pipelines and transformations.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark and AWS data services such as S3.
  • Experience integrating diverse data sources through APIs, batch processing or streaming.
  • Sound understanding of data modelling, data quality, metadata management and governance.
  • Experience building reusable integration frameworks or self-service data solutions, ideally using low-code/no-code approaches.
  • Clear communication and stakeholder collaboration skills, supported by experience with version control, CI/CD and automated testing. RWE is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment - we value your passion, your willingness to learn and your desire to thrive. Even if you don’t have all the above skills, need flexible working arrangements or other adjustments not yet listed here, we’d love to hear from you.

Benefits & conditions

  • Work at the intersection of energy supply, trading and technology in a dynamic industry.
  • Join a large, collaborative agile team delivering real business impact.
  • Grow through hands-on learning, knowledge sharing and support from internal specialists.
  • Receive a competitive salary and annual discretionary bonus.
  • Be part of an open, inclusive and diverse culture.
