Data engineer

The Data Engineer reports to the, Data Pipelines and ETL

• Design and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform and load data from multiple sources.
• Optimise data pipelines using orchestration tools for smooth data flow.
• Implement monitoring and recovery to maintain data integrity.

Cloud Services

• Build and manage data solutions on Azure (Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory).
• Ensure systems are scalable, reliable and high-performing.

Collaboration

• Partner with data consumers to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Share knowledge and promote best practices within the team.

Data Governance and Quality

• Apply governance standards and maintain data quality and security.
• Document processes and enforce best practices.

Data Landscape

• Understand modern data architecture principles (e.g., Data Lakes, medallion architecture).
• Support reporting and analytics, including integration with Power BI.

• Experience in data engineering, including ETL design and implementation.
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data services (Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with data governance and quality frameworks.
• Experience in financial services or similar regulated environments.
• Knowledge of additional data engineering tools and technologies.
