Java/Scala Developer

An experienced developer is required to join an collaborative Agile team focused on designing and building high-quality, scalable financial systems. The successful candidate shall work directly with business users to refine requirements, design robust solutions, and assist with validation processes. This is a technical position that demands a focus on hands-on development and active system creation., * Design, develop, and implement scalable software solutions utilizing core technologies

• Collaborate within an Agile environment utilizing practices such as pair programming and daily synchronization meetings
• Refine complex system requirements through active engagement with business users
• Write comprehensive unit tests and acceptance tests to ensure delivery of high-quality code
• Participate in the shared team codebase using continuous integration methodologies
• Contribute to production support rotations as required by the business unit
• Assist during quality assurance and user acceptance testing phases

Experience: Candidates must possess at least five years of professional experience developing solutions with core Java. A minimum of two years of professional experience developing with Scala or other functional programming languages is required. Experience working within a Linux/Unix environment is necessary.

Technical Skills: Proven expertise in writing Unit Tests and Acceptance/Behavior Tests is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong data structure, algorithm, and problem-solving capabilities, along with experience in continuous integration environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with message-oriented middleware such as Kafka, AMQP, MQ, or AMPS
• Familiarity with distributed systems and REST API design and development
• Experience with web application development technologies including JavaScript, AngularJS, and Bootstrap
• Knowledge of DDD, CQRS, and event-sourced systems
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash or Python
• Experience with automated deployment technologies including Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Docker
• Understanding of relevant financial industry middle and back-office processes
