Software Engineer

• As a Senior Java Engineer, you take responsibility for the development and continuous improvement of our applications and contribute to the team’s development practices. • Using your technical expertise, you assess the feasibility of proposed functional analyses and translate requirements into robust technical solutions. You contribute to architectural discussions and proactively recommend improvements, applying Clean Code, Clean Architecture, and SOLID principles thoughtfully.
• Java development with Spring Boot is your main expertise, with opportunities to expand your scope over time. You take ownership of your work, follow through on commitments, and help resolve incidents and problems within your domain.

• A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Excellent Java and object-oriented development skills, with experience using Spring Boot.
• A good understanding of SOLID principles and a commitment to Clean Code, Clean Architecture, and maintainable solutions.
• The ability to contribute to architectural discussions, explain technical choices, and consider their trade-offs.
• A reliable, collaborative approach: you take responsibility, actively contribute to discussions, and help the team move forward.
• A continuous improvement mindset: you seek feedback, share what you learn, and look for ways to improve your skills, our codebase, and team practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• An accurate, methodical, and systematic way of working.

• The ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Knowledge of cloud development using Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD environments.
• A good understanding of OAuth2, Spring Security, and ForgeRock.
• A good understanding of REST, JSON, JUnit Jupiter, Domain-Driven Design, Hibernate, and unit and integration testing.

Nice to have

• Experience with test-driven development (TDD).
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Flyway, ArgoCD, Kong, GitLab, Jenkins, Kafka, Akeyless, ELK, and Grafana.
• Experience with Mockito, WireMock, and Testcontainers.
• Experience with event-driven architecture in a microservice landscape.
• Experience proactively maintaining and improving a large, complex codebase.
